Burton is a place full of wonder. With over 60 miles of shoreline, Lake Burton is one of the most beautiful lakes in Georgia. Days here are spent making a splash at the natural waterslide known as Sliding Rock, exercising on kayaks or paddleboards, tubing down Wildcat Creek, fishing for trout or bass in one of our 3 ponds or mile of private trout stream shoreline.

Strategically clustering buildings and public leisure areas to protect the largest possible swaths of wilderness.  Vantage points are crafted through meadows and lush forest.  Carefully positioning neighborhood and civic nodes to create connection points for people.  Buildings pay homage to our organic canvas by using minimal ecological footprints.  Homes designed so their inhabitants can tap into the energies of nature from their rooftops, balconies, porches, and courtyards.

Being great environmental stewards was and will always be of utmost importance.  We start and end by working with the land, not imposing upon it.  We constantly think about how lucky we are to be the stewards of this special land, and how can we pay the most respect to its natural inhabitants and creatures, waterways, sounds, sights.  It’s not always the easiest path, but it’s the right one.

• Limitations on outdoor and uplighting to preserve the beauty of the night sky.

• Gravel roads to reduce non-permeable surfaces for runoff.

• Building to almost net-zero energy standards

• Using timeless building materials that complement the terrain.

• Conservation overlay protecting the forest from further development

• Minimal grading to preserve the natural contours of the land

• Flora and fauna native to the area will be replanted, restoring any disruption to the landscape.
